School News
I think I should do school news and interview people about the Map Testing. Ever since I cam remember I wanted to interview people about random things. I also like to hear what people’s opinions are about things, especially about how they feel about doing test. I think I would be great at that. As a school news reporter I would add great detail about what the people have to say about what they think. If there is no major test if I have to I’ll also try something else but I would really like to do interviews about the school test. If I become a school news reporter I will try my best to not make any typos, and I’ll check my spelling after I type a page or article up.
How do you feel about Map testing?
How do you feel when the time comes in the beginning of the year when you have to do the Map testing when you didn’t even learn that much yet? Do you feel scared? Nervous? Well Map testing is just a test to see what you know so far. No need to get nervous or anything. Just take your time and don’t rush through the test. You might not like it and neither do I. Maybe if I run across you I can get your opinion about Map testing or any other major test like the D.S.T.P or mid terms maybe. I don’t know exactly what mid terms is like but from what I heard so far it isn’t a fun test! The D.S.T.P is the test that I dislike the most because some of the question on there are from things I have learned in the past and forgot and I get so frustrated when that happens but I deal with it and I try my best. Maybe just maybe I’ll run across you and interview you for the school paper.

Okay. Great artical so far, just a few minor mistakes...
When you say, 'How do you feel when the time comes in the beginning of the year when you have to do the Map testing when you didn’t even learn that much yet' I would change it to two sentences, like, 'How do you feel when the time comes in the beginning of the year when you have to do the dreadful Map testing? You haven't even learned that much yet!
Also, when you say 'Maybe if I run across you I can get your opinion about Map testing or any other major test like the D.S.T.P or mid terms maybe' you say maybe twice, and you might want to stick to just MAP testing, not another test. But this is up to your editors. Same with the rest of the artical.
I think you've made a lot of progress so far, great job!

A new form of testing, called MAP testing, was introduced to students in grades 3-5 during the 2005-2006 school year. This year (2006-2007), second grade students will also participate. MAP, or the Measure of Academic Progress, is a computerized adaptive test which helps teachers, parents, and administrators improve learning for all students and make informed decisions to promote a child's academic growth.
When will students be tested and how often? During the weeks of Aug. 28-Sept. 22, students will participate in several MAP testing sessions to assess Reading, Math, and Science. When taking the MAP test, the difficulty of each question is based on how well a student answers all the questions. As the student answers correctly, questions become more difficult. If the student answers incorrectly, the questions become easier. Although the tests are not timed, it usually takes students about one hour to complete each test. Students will repeat the tests two more times during the year, usually winter and spring semesters, to continually assess student progress and adapt learning as needed.
whatzzzz up
